Farnborough town 12days to the show
Looking around Farnborough you would be pushed
to see any mention of the Airshow in 12 days time
when the eyes of the world are on the Airfield.
Possibly the Road signs and no parking signs
are the only things and one or two bookshops
might have the Odd book or two on show
that's about all there ever is . No Flags banners
nothing in this Very Dull Town to Welcome
thousands of visitors its as though people
don't really care .

How ATC Plans the show contol
This information outlines the Show Air Traffic Control :
-------------------------------------------------------
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will establish temporary restricted airspace around Farnborough between 7 to 21 July during this year’s International Air Display.
Details of the Restricted Airspace (Temporary) - RA(T) - are provided in Aeronautical Information Circular 35/2008 (Mauve 259) ‘Restriction of Flying Regulations - Farnborough 7-21 July 2008’. In addition, two AIP Supplements (S 17/2008 and 18/2008) describing general arrangements for the display and for helicopter operations during the period are available online through The Ais at http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.html
Details of airspace restrictions feature on the daily Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) freephone telephone service (0500 354802) and are included in Preflight Information Bulletins (PIB), also available from the AIS website.
Peter Marks from the CAA’s Directorate of Airspace Policy said: “The Farnborough airspace restriction is put in place to provide a secure environment for the display aircraft, which range from airliners to the Red Arrows, and its size is kept to the absolute minimum that will accommodate their display routines.
“Any infringement of the restricted airspace would, at best, cause the cancellation of a particular part of the show so all pilots will need to ensure they are fully and properly briefed before flying.”

Coming into Farnborough
Visitors to the Airshow coming into Farnborough on the A325.
The Big Glass building "CONCEPT 2000" Has been demolished
and Blocks of flats and Houses going up. Looking down Victoria
rd you will see loads of hoardings hiding the fact that most of the
Town centre is a big building Site with only the Southern part still
open KINGS MEAD and PRINCES MEAD +The remaning Part of
Queensmead. One piece od Bad news is that the hotel and Pub
"TUMBLEDOWN DICK" Is closed with a very Uncertain Future.
As you progress along the A325 over to your right you will see
the area where the Buses pick up and set down by the car park
Building will soon Start here on a" MULTIPLEX CINEMA "complex
Getting closer to the field by the Collage is where there has
been Major changes to the Road layouts to allow Entry into
the old "RAE" Factory site with a mixture of Shops , offices
Homes and preserved buildings , Next on the right is the
Famous Airshow pictured Pub " The Swan Hotel" recently
Refurbished then next building is the "FAST" Museum loads
of Exhibits from Farnborough past FREE entry .
Then we come to a new Hotel for "TAG AVIATION" Should be
open in July 2008 . This then brings you to the Entrance
For the Show well we think it is still to be used but its
part of the Hotel parking Area so we wait to see if still used.
